Eighteen years ago, Andi Hollister's sister was brutally murdered, but justice is about to be served as the execution date of her sister's murderer is fast approaching. However, Andi's world is about to be turned upside down as new evidence from a supposed eyewitness surfaces exonerating the self-confessed killer. In addition, when an old friend of her sister's fails to meet her one evening to answer questions about Stephanie's past and is later found dead of an apparent suicide, Andi's suspicions rise. Will Kincaide, Memphis Cold Case Unit Detective and long-time friend of the Hollister family, also has personal reasons for finding the truth- the man on death row for Stephanie Hollister's murder, is his cousin. As more clues emerge- including multiple break-ins, mysterious hidden diamonds, and a tangled web of friends from Stephanie's past- Andi, Will and Andi's brother, Sergeant Brad Hollister, must race against time to uncover long-hidden secrets to get to the bottom of what really happened the night Stephanie was murdered!
Bradley's tale in Justice Delayed contains an abundance of unexpected twists and turns leading the reader on a chase to find the real killer with Andi, Will, and Brad. Andi's life is in peril, too, as multiple players surface from Stephanie's past revealing details that she lived a double life involving criminal activity unbeknownst to her family. Although the story is fast-paced and laced with danger, the story was a bit choppy at times and contained parts that seemed irrelevant to the plot as a whole. I would have also liked to see more character development for the main characters. My last disappointment came from the weak romance storyline between Andi and Will. There was so much untapped potential with these two! I felt the outcome of their romance was rushed at the end since it was not built up throughout the novel. Although there were some disappointing aspects within the plot, the ending caught me by complete surprise! It was worth pushing through to the end of the book to discover the true identity of Stephanie's killer and how her murder actually came down.
