Kirra Jacobs has returned to her Alaskan hometown to take over her father's veterinarian practice, but scars from her past trail her home. After reuniting with the McKenna siblings in Silenced, Kirra joins the search and rescue team for the Iditarod race. Although she is paired to work with her former arch nemesis in high school, Reef McKenna, she finds that as adults sparks fly between the two of them when mutual interest ignites. Their SAR skills are stretched when Kirra's beloved uncle mysteriously disappears during the race. Reef and Kirra struggle to not only brave the harsh weather conditions and find her missing uncle, but also to navigate their growing feelings for one another along the way. The entire McKenna clan and their significant others join in the search in this exciting finale of Petrrey's Alaskan Courage series!
I was so very sad to see this series end, but was pleased with the ending. Sabotaged has two main storylines. The plot following Kirra's uncle's disappearance was ok, but seemed to drag and get a little political at times. Kirra and Reef's love story, however, was a pleasure to follow. Their bantering at the beginning of the story was playful and hinted at the strong attraction between them. Once their romance ignited, Pettrey provided a beautiful example of how opposites attract- and can compliment- each other nicely. It was evident that the tenderness, passion, and connection between Kirra and Reef ran deep. Lastly, I especially liked that every member of the McKenna clan and their significant others played a role in the plot. Although I will miss this series, I appreciated that Pettrey shared what the future would hold for each of the five couples. Loved this series!!! Sniff-sniff!
