In the second installment of Henderson's Evie Blackwell Cold Case series, Evie finally finds herself as a member of the exclusive investigative team created by the governor to seek answers to cases that have not yet been solved. Her case involves a missing college co-ed who seemed to vanish without a trace after attending a concert with friends one evening. David Marshal, Evie's constituent, works alongside her seeking clues to the case he's been given- the disappearance of a private investigator. Evie and David find their cases mysteriously overlap and work together filling in the missing pieces of their investigations while also offering friendship and support for each other's struggles in their respective personal relationships.
Threads of Suspicion once again provides a wealth of suspense and mystery as Evie and David try to unlock the mysteries of their cases. Henderson is a master at making the reader feel as if he/she is also part of the investigative team keeping the momentum of the investigations moving all the way to the very end! I enjoyed Evie and David's conversations- both from the criminal investigations standpoint and as they sympathized with each other's romance troubles. Henderson did not disappoint in tackling solid theological questions either, letting the reader ponder conversation threads between Evie and David, and Evie and Maggie. Another novel showcasing Henderson's writing talents making her a favorite of mine for decades!
